Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie

This pie is best when it’s made a day ahead so that it has time to cool and set. Store covered with plastic wrap, at room temperature.

1 (9-inch) deep dish pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup sugar

1 cup white corn syrup

1/2 cup melted butter

4 large eggs

1/4 cup bourbon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 cup chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 325 degrees, Place pie crust on a baking sheet. Combine sugar, corn syrup and melted butter in a bowl. Add eggs, bourbon, vanilla extract, flour and salt. Mix well to combine. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Pour mixture into pie crust. Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes or until the pie is set and golden on top. Serves 6 to 8.
