It’s oyster season in the South Carolina Lowcountry. When months containing an ‘R’ (November, December, January, February, March and April) roll around, oyster roasts are suddenly as popular as barbecues. Oyster shooters are a real treat — especially at Christmas parties and holiday gatherings. The spicier, the better! Merry Christmas!
You can certainly use tomato or vegetable juice for these yummy shooters. We like Zing Zang!
8 raw oysters
Bloody Mary mix
Line up 8 double shot glasses. Place one raw oyster in each glass. Cover with bloody Mary mix and top with a splash of vodka. Squeeze lemon over the top. Serves 8.
